The three failure points

Failure	The drill against it
Wrong formula	Formula-first practice: read the word problem, name the formula out loud, THEN look at the sheet. Never compute until the formula is named.
Unit conversion error	Convert everything to the formula's units before substituting, on paper, every time. Practice conversions cold until they are reflex, because the sheet lists them but does not do them.
Pace	Timed sets at 90 seconds per question. Bank time on knowledge questions to spend on multi-step math. Skip and return rather than sink.

The session protocol

1	Ten word problems, formula-naming only, no computing. Score the naming.
2	Ten conversions, cold, timed.
3	Ten full problems at 90 seconds each with the formula sheet beside you, exactly as on exam day.
4	Log every miss by failure type: formula, units, or clock. Next session drills the biggest column.
